Harvard University Mail Services (HUMS) recently received the Mail Technology Award from the United States Postal Service (USPS) for its new platform that allows students, faculty, and staff to more accurately track their packages on campus. Here’s how it works. In the past, tracking was only possible until a package reached the “gates of Harvard.” There was no way to precisely locate a piece of mail from the U.S. Postal Service once it entered the University Mail system. Now, that’s all changed. By visiting the package tracker, simply input the tracking number provided by the USPS and you’ll be able to view where on campus your package is and whether it’s ready for pick-up.USPS recognized HUMS with the 2016 Northeast Area ‘Mail Technology Award’ for creating the program. The award is given annually to organizations that implement innovative mailing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity. This is just another example of how Mail Services is improving its operations to better serve the Harvard community. Please note this mainly applies to USPS packages. If a package is being delivered via FedEx, UPS, etc., simply track using their platform.
